With the genitor's connection to its swarm severed, they descended to feed on its carcass. This Hollow Earth predator took Godzilla by surprise, sinking its teeth into his neck, but he easily tore its spine out, killing it. They celebrated their reunion as the mercenaries joined the fight, driving off or killing the remaining Nightboys with gunfire. Dog intervened, grabbing the monster in his jaws and slamming it repeatedly into the ground.
She leapt over and kicked the first two Nightboys to attack her, but a third pinned her to the ground, its jaws only held back by her cuffs. The sounds of their fight and the light of the torch alerted the camp below, and despite being handcuffed, Annie charged towards them, calling to Dog, who returned her cry.
Dog shrugged off the Nightboys attached to him, thrashing one around in his jaws and throwing it, while Charlie batted another away. When a third one pounced, Charlie clubbed it with the torch. He deflected the first three, but two clung to his back. Angered by the flames, they awoke and began to peel off the tree, with one tackling Charlie to the ground, then targeting Dog along with several of its companions. Dog began growling as he approached the tree, but Charlie waved off his concerns, only to find that what he thought was the tree's bark was a group of sleeping Nightboys tightly nestled around each other. Positioned on a hill overlooking the camp, Charlie planned to set a tree on fire as a distraction. In " Terms of Endearment", Charlie and Dog prepared to infiltrate the mercenaries' camp to liberate Cap, Mike, and Annie. Though exposed to the creature's light, Kraken intercepted it with a red tentacle at the last moment, shattering its shell in a bright flash and sending it falling back into the sea. While fighting Kraken in " You'll Never Catch a Monkey That Way", Kong scooped up a curled-up Rock Bug resting underwater and hurled it at his enemy. Nearby crabs lunged at the insect, but it deftly evaded them and they soon turned their attention to Charlie and Mike, who had been trying to sneak off the beach while it distracted them. Later in the episode, Charlie accidentally picked up a baby Rock Bug while hiding from the Trapdoor Crabs on a Skull Island beach and threw it in alarm when it revealed itself. With surprising speed, the insect scuttled towards the other man and enveloped him, returning to its rock-like state. One of Irene's mercenaries came to his rescue with a burst of machine gun fire. When it growled, however, he realized the creature was an insect and stepped back in alarm. As it rose up, he was dazzled by the blue and aquamarine geodes in its chest, as well as the sparkling void beyond them. At first he dismissed it as a large, unusually-shaped rock, then grew suspicious. In " The Last Blank Space on the Map", a Rock Bug was the first monster Cap encountered on Skull Island.
